Mainstream Political Action Committee
I neglected to copy the questions. I will get them.
Question 1: I would rather get rid of the Department of Education and its mandates. I would vote for tax credits or vouchers.
Question 2: Biblical creation would have a hard time getting by the courts. I would support intelligent design.
Question 3: I am opposed to sex education in schools. It's not education it's indoctrination.
Question 4: I would support the effort but believe you are facing an uphill battle: the courts, and in defining the documents as American.
Question 5: The Supreme Court has already decided this issue. A Constitutional Amendment will not pass, in my opinion. Prayer does not have to be vocal to be effective.
Question 6: As a Catholic I believe it is beneficial to start each congressional session with a prayer. As a legislator I understand the concerns of those who oppose it. But, tradition has served us well and would continue the practice.
Question 7: This is a toughie. What religions do you include in non-ecumenical? I cannot envision a Christian chaplain reciting a Wiggan, however you spell it, prayer. Again, I would support tradition.
Question 8: I am opposed to Hate Crime legislation because it is politically motivated. Murder is murder. Rape is rape. Theft is theft.
Question 9: I believe that no one should be discriminated against or given special privileges. That does not preclude helping folks who need it.
Question 10: When you can prove to me that a human embryo is a frog then I will deny it liberties. But, any legislation would have to be well written. There are those, especially in government, that would seriously abuse such a law. I can foresee expectant mothers being hauled into birthing camps to insure that a good little politically correct socialist is born.
Question 11: Parental consent should always have to be obtained for any activity that a child delves into. I have never understood how abortion somehow escapes the purview of a parent's responsibilities. Politics, yuk.
Question 12: I am opposed to both.
Question 13: I am not opposed to adult stem cell research. I am opposed to embryonic stem cell research.
Question 14: I can read. The Constitution is pretty clear.
Question 15: No comment.
Question 16: Is flag desecration a problem to be solved in this country? I have never seen it happen except on TV. It saddens me but I think the folks that do it are expressing their displeasure or just protesting thus free speech.
