Dan

Dan plays many string instruments well, but in FSB he features the 4 string (tenor) and 5 string banjo. Dan has performed with many local bands and is currently the leader of the Wichita Banjo Band. He was a mathematics professor at a local college for many years. He is an accomplished juggler (and would really like to know who swiped his unicycle) and he is very active in the Historic Midtown Citizens Association. He lives in a beautifully restored Victorian house in Mid-town Wichita where he provides stringed instrument music instruction in the parlor. If you call his house, the answering machine replies "Dan and Karen, banjos and bagpipes; please leave a message" (yes there is more to this wonderful story....).
Randy

Randy plays the double bass, foot-stomp tambourine and provides many of
the vocal leads. A KU grad, he founded Randal Steiner Architect in
1989. He says architecture can be described as frozen music, so take note of his web site at RSAarchitect.com. Randy has played in bands and church ensembles since high school dabbling in folk, country, bluegrass, rock, 12 bar blues and other. One "other" band had a name that could not be spelled (you have to ask him about this!). He harbors a "locked and loaded" Stratocaster in his office, should you drop by for an impromptu solo.
Margo

Margo plays guitar and provides many of the band vocals. She currently dispenses sales assistance and advice at a natural food & supplements store in west Wichita. She has the distinction of having been "on the air" with Click and Clack on NPR's "Car Talk" radio show. She has hiked the Grand Canyon numerous times and she camps dangerously close to the river each year at the Walnut Valley Festival. Dr. Margo Martin earned her Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition in 2011. She wrote "Roly-Polies and Lady Bugs", a Walnut Valley Festival prize winning song. If you call Margo and get the answering machine you will her flatpick version of "Red Haired Boy".
Anne

Anne's love of music had no beginning and will have no end. With a BFA in Music Therapy, a BME in Music Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Master of Library Science, playing in FSB allows the perfect outlet for musical expression. Anne plays many musical instruments, but in FSB she sings and plays penny whistle, flute, and Irish drum. She was one of the founding members of Rowan, and currently also plays guitar, flute, and penny whistle for dances with "Lilting Banshee".
Lynn

Lynn plays mandolin, fiddle and concertina and contributes to the band vocals. He packed all his belongings (including an Epiphone Devon arch-top guitar) in a plaid-painted 1956 VW bug and left upstate NY for Kansas in 1972. For over 36 years he used his "Rocket Science" education to supplement his music income at one of Wichita's aviation companies. He designed, built and flew an original-design, single seat light aircraft in the 1980s. He lives in a log house on the banks of the Arkansas river in Wichita. Lynn and Dan share the same birthdate.
