John Worley, Jr. married Esther Blount in 1718/19 and, when they both died in Jan 1744/45, they left several orphan children.

The fact that John Worley, Jr is the son of John Worley, Sr is established by a couple of deeds: one involving the transfer of land from John Worley, Jr. to John Worley, Sr. and one transferring land from John Worley, Sr. to his grandsons, Timothy and John (Joshua Worley had no sons by that name).

1739- 24 July 1739. John Worley, Jr. to his father John Worley of same. 60 pounds. 315 acres (messuage) on south side of Chowan River, called Long Neck. Wit: Penelope Worley. Dec Ct 1740. [Dr. Stephen E. Bradley, Jr., The Deeds of Tyrrell County, North Carolina 1735 - 1760, Keysville, Virginia: Author, 1991. Tyrrell County, North Carolina Deed Book 1 p, 114]

1740- 18 November 1740. John Worley, Gent of Tyrrell Co. to his grandchildren Thomas & John Worley both of same. Deed of gift. 640 acres on Pamptico, joining John Walker, Cornelius Callehan. To be divided when sd Thomas comes of age. Wit: Wm. Turner, John Long, Thos. Leary. Dec Ct. 1740. [Dr. Stephen E. Bradley, Jr., The Deeds of Tyrrell County, North Carolina 1735 - 1760, Keysville, Virginia: Author, 1991. Tyrrell County, North Carolina Deed Book 1 p, 113]

It appears that the mother of John Worley, Jr was Mary Long, daughter of James Long, Jr. and Elizabeth Hawkins and not her sister Elizabeth Long. Both Mary and Elizabeth were named in the 1712 Will of James Long. This means that John Worley, Sr. could not have married Elizabeth until after 1712. However, both Joshua and John Jr. were born before 1712. According to a 1728 Deed, Joshua was the eldest son of Mary. According to Hathaway's, Joshua was the grandson of James Long. This means that John, Jr. would have been the second son of John Worley, Sr. and Mary Long.
