Anthony Dibrell, Jr. married Wilmuth Watson, the daughter of James Watson of Amherst County, Virginia in November 1790. Wilmuth was just fifteen when they were married in Amherst County and remained there until after their first child, Charles Lee Dibrell was born. They then moved to live in Anthony's native County, Buckingham County, where they would live out their lives. They had thirteen children: Charles Lee Dibrell born October 03, 1791; James Watson Dibrell born February 09, 1793; Edwin Dibrell born September 19, 1794; Elizabeth Nicholas Dibrell born March 16, 1798; Martha Rookings Dibrell born in December 1799; Leeanna Dibrell born October 02, 1801; Francis Watson born June 18, 1803; Anthony Dibrell born August 19, 1805; Judith Ann Dibrell born June 26, 1807; Catherine Dibrell born July 15, 1809; Wilmuth Watson Dibrell born May 20, 1811; Mathew Watson Dibrell born October 22, 1813; and Collins Dibrell who died in infancy.

Not much is known about the private life of Anthony. He apparently lived the life of a private citizen pursuing a life in which agriculture was his main support. Anthony died in 1816 at the age of fifty three years. Wilmuth lived until the 1830's because she filed to receive the Pension Application which was made available for the Revolutionary service of her husband.
